In Konya, as it is the site of the tomb of the famed religious figure Celaleddin Rumi, the Mevlana and is also on the route to the tourism resorts of Antalya and Cappadocia, there are many high quality hotels in the city, ranging from five star hotels down. All of Konya's hotels, barring the Hilton, are in the city centre or close to it. Except for the very small hotels, almost all have restaurants.The famous local dishes of tandir ( Lamb cooked in an underground fire ) and meat bread can be found in all hotels. Konya is one of the best-organised cities of Turkey in respect to traffic and is very easy to visit, with the tramway eases traffic congestion on the major roads.
