The whole of the Bodrum Peninsula, not just the town itself, has become a major tourism centre. Starting from Gumbet, just out side Bodrum, there are the resorts of Bitez, Ortakent-Yahsi, Kargi, Bagla, Aspat, Karaincir, Akyarlar, Turgutreis, Kadikalesi, Gumusluk, Yalikavak, Tilkicik, Gundogan, Turbuku, Gulkoy, Torba and Guvercinlik.

In between Bodrum and these sites there are regular minibuses running until the morning in the summer season. It is possible to find high quality hotels and holiday villages at all of the places.

In Bodrum, which is both the accommodation as well as the entertainment centre of the region, there are many and varied restaurants, discos, and night clubs. In the places such as Gulluk, which is somewhat further from the centre and at virgin beaches such as Mazi and Coketme, the facilities are for now limited.
